QUETTA, Jan 5: A police officer was shot dead while a man was killed and two others were injured in a landmine blast in two separate incidents in Balochistan on Thursday.
ASI Ghulam Raza Bangash was gunned when he was on his way home in what police called a possible sectarian attack by unidentified terrorists.
Police said the gunmen riding a motorcycle shot the ASI dead in Nawan Killi area of the provincial capital, adding that sectarian motive was likely to be behind the murder.
In a separate incident, in Maro area of Dera Bugti, a landmine exploded when a motorcycle ran over it, killing a man and injuring two others. The injured were taken to Dera Bugti district hospital.
Meanwhile, gas supply from the pir koh gas purification plant was disrupted after some unknown men blew up a gas pipeline supplying gas from well Nos 12 and 21 of the field.
