BEIJING: A 3D printing museum, China’s first, has been opened in Beijing.
The museum has been started in DRC Industrial Design and Creative Industry Base, allowing visitors to experience the impressive 3D technology.
To give the visitors a first hand experience, the museum allows them to have their entire body scanned by a shoebox-sized 3D scanner. After this a multi-dimensional data will then be stored and processed by computer. Several hours later, the visitors will receive a 3D life-like mini sculpture of themselves.
The museum can also print out other items, including cans, rings, vases, shoes, dolls and iPhone holders.
The world’s first 3D printing photo booth, which creates life-like miniature photos, was opened in Tokyo, Japan, last year.
